Equity-minded leadership bridges community. It cultivates unity in diversity. It transforms conflict. Equity-minded leadership fosters inclusive excellence. Inclusive excellence refers to the practice of nurturing barrier-free working, learning, and service environments where ALL employees, clients, and partners from all socio-cultural backgrounds feel empowered to bring their authentic best selves and to realize their professional, academic, and social dreams.
No educational institution, company, or organization sets off to fail. With well-crafted visions and missions, educational institutions and other organizations set their eyes on the prize, usually in terms of valuable outcomes such as increased student enrollment and academic achievement, higher profits, employee engagement and satisfaction, and overall organizational effectiveness.
Yet, several blind spots become obstacles to achieving the results articulated in organizational visions and missions. Some of the challenges include the absence of community where everyone feels that they belong; lack of trust which hampers engagement; self-centeredness which creates an environment where employees do not show up for one another; underdeveloped capacities to communicate mindfully about difficult topics; and fear of and inability to manage conflict.
When these challenges are not strategically addressed, financial and human costs increase, revenue decreases, and the organization’s reputation plummets. Specifically,
I’m Elavie. I am a practiced expert on equity-minded leadership, mindful communication, conflict transformation, and building resilient communities. I founded Banana Tree Consulting & Coaching LLC to offer consulting and coaching services that help educational institutions and other organization realize valuable outcomes, improve performance, boost employee engagement and satisfaction, and achieve overall organizational effectiveness. I provide customized consulting and coaching services that help organizations and leaders avoid costly disruptions, staff turnover, and decreased revenue due to low enrollment and reduced funding. Additionally, I coach individuals from marginalized backgrounds to success while addressing their unique challenges.

I center inclusive excellence to help leaders and organizations build community and elevate morale, improve relationships by transforming unproductive conflict, boost staff and student retention, and increase revenue. Using my time-tested Equity-Minded Leadership Framework, I help executives, managers, and organizations assess, imagine, and execute transformative pathways to inclusive excellence, thus creating a work environment where everyone feels empowered to elevate their contributions to the organization and the community.
